About

I’m Holly, and over a period of 8 1/2 years, my husband and I parented about 17 foster kids, ages 3 days to 16 years. We adopted one adored little one who is now 6, and the rest all moved on to what we can only hope is better things. Most returned to their families. Our first foster kiddo still spends a lot of weekends and vacations with us too, and we love her like our own. We essentially coparent her with her Mom, and give one other a whole lot of grace because coparenting is hard! We also have two cats and one new kitten making our lives chaos-filled.

My daughter has dwarfism, and her medical issues because of it are fairly extensive. I also have health problems – mostly a collection of autoimmune diseases – so we juggle a lot of doctors and medical challenges.

Sprinkles on a Chaos Cupcake is the story of the sweet, chaotic, amazeballs life we live.

This blog is also a look into the foster care system that is broken beyond belief. Although I am no longer fostering I am working on becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (“CASA”) for kids in foster care, so I can keep meeting the incredible children touched by the system, and making a tiny difference wherever I can.
